he first London flagship for Kiko Kostadinov and the brand’s third global store, this project saw us lead the translation of an existing artistic world into a fully functioning retail environment in Haggerston.

Working from a rich set of visual, material, and spatial references, we developed the interior as a precise act of adaptation: transforming an installation language into an operational store while retaining its intensity, atmosphere, and sense of performance. Our role centred on interpreting these source elements architecturally — reconfiguring them into a coherent retail experience that could support display, circulation, fitting, and day-to-day use.

The design takes cues from the original installation’s distinctive material palette and spatial character, which we reworked into the architecture of the store. Pontoon-style railings were reimagined as suspended chrome garment rails. Upholstered seating elements were redistributed throughout the space, including within the fitting room. A deep maroon carpet wraps continuously across floor and wall surfaces, where carved recesses form integrated shelving and display niches. Illuminated PVC curtains mediate the existing structure, softening the columns and creating glowing thresholds within the interior.

Situated directly beneath the brand’s design studio, the flagship was conceived to feel closely connected to the ongoing life of the label. We shaped the arrival sequence as a saturated red tunnel drawing visitors in from the street, passing a dedicated exhibition window and into a space that feels both immersive and in active use. This relationship between front-of-house retail and the working world of the studio gives the project its particular energy and immediacy.

Designed to be adaptable as well as atmospheric, the space supports not only retail but also dinners, presentations, and community events. The result is an interior that is both highly specific and flexible: a spatial environment with a strong identity, carefully developed to turn a reference world into a durable, functional, and characterful flagship.
